Passivhaus certification
The new passivhaus farmhouse is now occupied and we are really pleased to hear that it is warm and cosy with great fresh air, even in the snowy, cold conditions we’ve had recently and it really does exactly what is says on the tin. We will be keeping a close eye on it throughout the seasons to ensure it is performing as modeled. Perthshire Ecohouse get unanimous approval
We are in the newspapers today and will be again over the next fews days – for all the right reasons I’m pleased to say. Today, Perth and Kinross Council Planning Committee voted unanimously to approve a new ecohouse designed by us here at Kirsty Maguire Architect Ltd. Armenia again, and UNDP masterclasses
I have been travelling again….. Firstly to Yerevan, in Armenia, in May to deliver the masterclasses and training for the UNDP project. This was to promote energy efficiency in residential new build construction and is part of a larger project run by The Climate Change Information Centre of Armenia. We are delighted to announce that we won the prestigious BRE Passivhaus Competition and will be developing the Scottish site at Ravenscraig. We were also pleased to be awarded the ‘Commendation for Innovation’ on the site. We will update our news blog as the project progresses with the design and construction of the house along with the research and training that will be run in parallel. On the move…
Heading out to Armenia just before the Christmas break was fantastic. Yerevan is a very impressive city, with a sprinkling of snow really getting me into the Christmas spirit before heading back home. We are really excited to have been named as one of the 4 finalists for the BRE Passivhaus competition. This is being developed as a Joint Venture as part of the Passiv Collective, of which Kirsty is a founding member.
